Following a recommendation the client sought to adapt a large attic void with a view to creating a new Master bedroom, a further bedroom for their young family along with a shower room suite. The high nature of the existing roof gave rise to a large attic full of potential.
From site feasibility survey LOFT evolved a sketch scheme into an architectural plan set that achieved the clients wishes. The classic rear dormer had a slight twist to the norm in that a high level slim line window allowed a neat shower room configuration not usually prevalent in these attic creations. As part of the design and build nature of LOFT the on site team involved the clients with the space evolution in order to achieve the accommodation desired along with clever store space.
The build took place across the winter months with little delay. The rear dormer was formed over the existing roof and once weathered in the former rear flank roof was removed and the adaptation allowed to continue. The clients took a few days away whilst the stairs were inserted and the new and the old blended as one. The ultimate finishes and choice of stair parts etc were agreed and installed - the client even managed to sell the former accommodation doors for reclaim!
